About the Rice Bag Project
The idea came from India. Many Christians in India are so poor that they are forced to spend most of their money on food. Despite their poverty, they have found a way to give generously to the Lord. Here's how they do it: Each night, a mother takes a handful of uncooked rice and places it in a small cloth bag (or container). When the bag is full, the rice is taken to the church as a gift for the Lord.
We can do this in America, too! We often have extra coins lying around - in pockets, at the bottom of a purse, between the couch cushions, or in the car. We can also be creative about ways to earn money!
