Girl's new joy in Jesus spreads to entire family

Mamana’s father tried hard to provide for his four children. Each day he toiled for hours in the hot sun as a mason.

He wanted a better life for his children and made sure they attended a nearby school. But Mamana and her sisters and brothers were often ill because the family couldn’t afford nutritious food.

Mamana struggled with asthma. Prayers to the family’s idols did not bring any hope or change.

Then a song changed everything.

Mamana heard the voices of children singing as she trudged home from school one day. She approached the source of the singing—a small church run by one of our ministry partners.

A Children’s Bible Club was underway and Mamana stood in the doorway watching the children sing and dance.

Mamana knew right away that she wanted to be part of this club and convinced her parents to let her join. Each night Mamana shared the Bible stories with her parents. And as she sang the praise songs at home, her joy became contagious.

Mamana and her family are now part of that small church. Mamana’s mother was recently baptized. And the entire family is praying that Jesus will bring complete healing from Mamana’s asthma.
