Week 3
Are you enjoying your experience so far? Is your family coming up with some unique ways to reach your goal? We're hearing from many of you about the ways this project is touching your families...sometimes in unexpected ways! Keep up the great ideas and enthusiasm! If your family has a story or photo to share from your Rice Bag Project experience, we invite you to send them to us at sonlight@missionindia.org. Tell us what you are enjoying about the program and what kinds of things your family has learned so far. And if you have any suggestions, we'd love to hear those too! (By sharing your stories and photos you give Mission India permission to publish this information on our website and/or in other print materials.) Illiteracy and poverty have shaped the lives of millions of women, in India like Meenaben. But idol worship and superstition are also part of the darkness of life in India. Last week, you read how illiteracy impacted Meenaben and her family. In part 3, we'll see how her life was affected by putting her trust in manmade idols, before she knew about Jesus. |
|
If you haven't already, we encourage you to watch the story of Meenaben on the DVD in your welcome kit. Worship is very important to me. From my childhood, I learned to worship the gods faithfully. My mother and father told me the gods expect me to bring them gifts and sacrifices so they can be happy and will bless me... |

Many Indians struggle with idol worship and live in spiritual slavery. In this week's activities, we'll learn about the many faiths practiced in India, discover more about the reasons many Indians worship, and read what the Bible teaches us about idol worship. |
