Mission India partners with Timothy Leadership Training Institute

"Entrust what you have heard from me to
those who will be qualified to teach others."
2 Timothy 2:2

Mission India is a sponsoring partner of The Timothy Leadership Training Institute.

Beginning in November, 2010, Mission India will use resources developed in partnership with The Timothy Institute to train grassroots, indigenous evangelists in India through the Church Planter Training program.

The Timothy Institute will provide training materials and trainers for the project. Mission India will fund translation work of the training modules done by a partner in India.

Other sponsoring agencies include Calvin Theological Seminary, Christian Reformed World Relief Committee, Christian Reformed World Missions, and Back to God Hour Ministries International.

“There is an explosion of church planting going on in India” and this project will enable the church planters to be part of the process in a more successful way, says Mission India President Dave Stravers.

Experienced missionaries will use mainly Timothy materials to teach evangelism through practical, small group, discipleship and Bible study techniques. They will do their work in a way that is more inductive, so many people can easily grasp, Stravers said.

"We believe this curriculum will enhance our ability to not only plant new churches but will encourage self-supporting congregations that care for themselves the capability of reproducing,” Stravers said.

The mission of Timothy Leadership Training Institute is to train pastors, evangelists and lay leaders, enabling them to build viable and healthy congregations and communities. TLT goals include the growth of faith, generosity and productive employ accounted for through regular reporting.
