Nalika watched the Bible Club from afar and longed to join the boys and girls ...
Boys and girls are welcomed by caring Christians at their local Children's Bible Club.They were singing!
As she swept up small piles of dirt, 14-year-old Nalika smiled and hummed along.
She loved listening to the boys and girls sing at the nearby Children's Bible Club.
She quickly finished her other chores - washing her family's clothes and utensils. Then, she rushed to the door. She was just in time to hear the story about Jesus.
This had become a routine for Nalika. After school, she did her chores and then watched the Club from a distance.
Once, she had asked her parents if she could join the other children, but they said, "No."
Today, Nalika secretly walked to the Bible Club.
Spotting the Club leader, she said, "Sir, I have been watching the Children's Bible Club activities for many days. I really enjoy listening to the songs. I want to come to the Club and learn new songs and prayer along with these children ... but my parents are unwilling to send me. Would you please talk with them?"
That same day, the Club leader walked over and introduced himself to Nalika's parents. After he talked with them, her parents agreed to enroll her in the Club.
Nalika was thrilled!
Nalika learned songs and memory verses quickly. She also accepted Jesus as her Savior. When she grows up, Nalika wants to be an evangelist.
She asks for prayers that her mom and dad will commit their lives to Christ, too.
