Hungry for a Savior
Dalaja couldn't go to school, but a Year-Long Bible Club opened the door for her to learn...
Boys and girls are welcomed by caring Christians at their local Children's Bible Club.9-year-old Dalaja is from a Muslim family.
Her dad passed away, and her mom has to beg on the streets. The whole family lives in a small hut.
Sometimes, Dalaja, her four brothers, and two sisters go hungry because there is not enough to eat.
Dalaja dreamed of being able to go to school, but she had never had the chance. So, when a Year-Long Children’s Bible Club started in her village, Dalaja begged her mom, "Please, can I go?" She was eager for any chance to learn something new.
When her mom gave her permission to attend the Club, Dalaja was overjoyed!
From the very first day, Dalaja loved being at the Bible Club. Dalaja’s Club leader noted that she paid especially close attention to the Bible stories.
New songs and games! Memory verses! Stories about Jesus!
Dalaja was learning so much! And she was eager to share these things with everyone she met.
One day, the Club leader shared the story of Jesus’ death.
It touched Dalaja to know that Jesus forgave the people who mocked and punished Him.
Then, the Club leader read Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Tears flooded little Dalaja’s eyes when she heard this verse, and she accepted Jesus as her Savior.
Today, Dalaja praises God - she is able to go to a free elementary school in her area. Dalaja and her family attend church together now, too. Please pray for Dalaja’s mom and siblings, who have not come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ yet.
