For 30+ years we have been partnering with India's Christians to fulfill the Great Commission
Mission India’s roots date back to 1970, when Dr. John F. DeVries developed a Bible correspondence course, dubbed “Project Philip” after the New Testament disciple who crossed national and cultural barriers to share God’s Word.
In the early 1980s, Dr. DeVries formed “Bibles for India,” the organizational predecessor of Mission India. In 1984, Bibles for India began sponsoring Gospel literacy courses in India.
In 1990, the work was reorganized under the name “Mission India” and the Children's Bible Club ministry was introduced.
At the end of 2004, Dr. DeVries decided to step back from day-to-day oversight of the ministry, handing the reins to Mission India's new president, Rev. Dave Stravers. Since then, in his role as Founder, Dr. DeVries has continued to focus his efforts on fulfilling his God-given vision for reaching the nation of India.
Today, Mission India continues to work with indigenous ministry partners across India as we pursue our goal of planting churches throughout India.
